BlogPaws Social Media Pet Blogging Awards Announced

Media company and online community site for pet bloggers, pet enthusiasts, and pet people, BlogPaws, has announced the 2012 Nose-to-Nose Pet Social Media Pet Blogging Awards.

Frederick, Colorado (April 25, 2012) — As the first online pet community to establish an offline social media conference, BlogPaws seeks nominees for twelve different categories in the 2012 Nose-to-Nose Pet Social Media Pet Blogging Awards. In addition to pet bloggers, pet people who microblog on Twitter and/or Facebook are eligible. A panel of professionals will judge the candidates based on creativity, expertise, and performance. Participants will not be required to garner votes or drive likes to their social media sites.

“We are incredibly excited and honored to have a stellar line up of pet bloggers and microbloggers already being nominated for these awards. Our awards aren’t based on popularity, so any pet blogger or microblogger is eligible in a variety of 12 categories,” co-founder Yvonne DiVita shared.

Nominations opened April 23, 2012 and will close May 6 at 11:59 p.m. MT. Finalists will be announced on or about May 15th and the winners will be awarded during an awards ceremony on Saturday, June 23rd at BlogPaws 2012. Winners are not required to be present to win, and the ceremony will be live streamed for free so everyone can tune in.

The twelve categories open for nominations include: Best Blog Design, Best Blog Writing, Best Humor Blog, Best Bark Blog, Best Meow Blog, Best Wiggle Blog, Best New Blog, Best Cause Blog, Best Video on a Blog, Best Photo on a Blog, Best Facebook Design, and Best Twitter Design.

BlogPaws is a pet-friendly event that has made its mark in Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, and next Utah. Their preliminary schedule for the Salt Lake City-based event can be found at http://events.blogpaws.com/blogpaws-2012-program.html. This year, many portions of BlogPaws will be livestreamed.
