Celebrate Your Wins: How to Enjoy Your Achievements Before Moving onto the Next Task

If you’re reading this, I bet I can predict a few things about you:

You’re a high achiever. You’re running a successful blog. You might be working a day job or taking on a side hustle to support your blogging efforts.
And you’re probably constantly raising the bar on yourself.

“Well,” you might say, “I saw a five percent increase in Instagram followers this week, but had I been more diligent—I skipped posting Tuesday when I had a cold—I could’ve hit 10 percent.”

Or maybe you apply shifting criteria to your content. “OK, I wrote my butt off on that post, and I got seriously great comments. But that pinnable is so lame. I bet the post could’ve done even better if I spent longer on that stinking image.”

We all do it. So many of the discussions in our Facebook groups are about how to do better, to improve, to change… while diminishing our achievements.

It’s a hallmark of being ambitious, right? Resting on your laurels for even a second can feel a smidge lazy.

No more, you goal-getters!

Yes, taking time to set goals and then working diligently to achieve them is vital.

But so is celebrating when you achieve one of those milestones!

Here’s how to celebrate your wins:

1. First, ICYMI, watch BlogPaws COE Chloe DiVita’s Facebook video on making New Year’s Declarations (instead of resolutions). Then, declare to celebrate your wins for 2017!

2. Next, grab a sheet of paper or open a blank doc, and start a list: My Wins. List every single thing you can think of from big (landed a huge sponsor, nailed a presentation, etc.) to the teeny tiny (took a deep breath before responding to a nasty comment, made coffee at home instead of a $5 latte, etc.).

3. Finally, share YOUR top three wins in the comments below. What better way to stay motivated and inspired than by cheering each other on?

So, let’s hear it: What are three wins of yours that deserve to be celebrated? After we finish celebrating your wins, then and only then can you move that bar on yourself!
