Ninth Annual Pet Anxiety Awareness Campaign Partners with DOGTV to Reach Millions of Dog Parents on their streaming channel, Unleashed

Industry Partners Educate Pet Parents About Recognizing and Relieving Fear, Anxiety and Stress in Dogs
Tampa, Florida (June 4, 2025) — Pet Living with Kristen Levine, an online pet parenting guide and DOGTV announced that the ninth-annual Pet Anxiety Awareness campaign returns this month, June 2025, with a focus on dogs. The awareness month was created by pet expert Kristen Levine in 2017, inspired by her own dog Buck, to help people recognize the symptoms of fear, anxiety and stress (FAS) in pets and to encourage pet parents to work with their veterinarians to find effective relief solutions.
Multiple studies indicate that noise sensitivity is the most common form of anxiety in dogs, affecting approximately 32-39% of the canine population. General fearfulness affects about 26% of dogs, while separation anxiety impacts roughly 17%. Research also shows high comorbidity between different forms of anxiety, with fearful dogs significantly more likely to experience noise sensitivity and separation anxiety.
“Pets who have anxiety can experience what is akin to a human panic attack,” explains board-certified veterinary behaviorist, Lisa Radosta. “That is, they’re truly suffering!” Radosta also explained that 99% of dogs exhibit at least one sign of fear, anxiety or stress in response to common stimuli or environments.
“After nearly a decade of raising awareness about pet anxiety, we’re seeing more pet parents recognize that behavior issues often stem from fear, anxiety, or stress,” said Levine. “By providing education and resources, we’re helping more pets live calmer, happier lives and strengthening the human-animal bond.”
The cornerstone of the Pet Living and DOGTV partnership is a special 60-minute episode of “The Experts: Smart Talk for Pet Lovers,” focused entirely on dog anxiety. The show will air from June 6 through July 4, 2025 on DOGTV’s Unleashed channel which can be found on TugoTV, Amazon Fire Channels and on DOGTV’s YouTube channel.
“Partnering with this canine anxiety awareness event and launching our new streaming channel, Unleashed, is an exciting step forward in our mission to support pet parents,” said Beke Lubeach, CEO of DOGTV. “By bringing together leading veterinarians, behaviorists and expert trainers, we’re delivering practical, science-backed guidance that can make a real difference in the lives of anxious dogs and the people who love them.”
The special episode features an all-star panel of prominent pet experts including: Lisa Radosta, DVM, DACVB, a board-certified veterinary behaviorist specializing in diagnosing and treating behavior problems in pets; Dr. Andy Roark, a practicing veterinarian, international speaker, and advocate for strengthening the human-animal bond; Victoria Stilwell, world-renowned dog trainer, behavior expert, and star of “It’s Me or the Dog,” known for her positive reinforcement training methods; and Alex Sessa, a certified dog trainer, behavior consultant, and owner of Peach on a Leash, working closely with families to address behavioral challenges. Host Kristen Levine and the experts discuss various aspects of dog anxiety, including separation anxiety, noise phobias, social anxiety, and the differences between anxiety and depression, providing viewers with practical guidance on both behavioral approaches and product solutions.
“We’re delighted to have strong industry partners representing a variety of treatments and therapies for dogs suffering with FAS,” said Levine. “Our sponsors help us expand our reach and resources to help pet parents find the appropriate solution for their pet.”
