Pet Health Awareness: Protect Feral Cats
With the recent reports of the “Polar Vortex” crossing the country and bringing with it frigid temperatures and, in some areas, copious amounts of snow, we need to urge you to bring your pets in from the cold. We trust, though, that if you are a pet parent and a pet lover that you wouldn’t leave your pets to fend for themselves in the frigid, snowy weather.
For those individuals who either work with feral cats or who have feral cats in their neighborhoods, we came across a way to provide shelter and offer them protection.
This great video from the Animal Rescue Site shows how to make a quick and easy shelter for feral cats.
We’ve written in the past about how to keep your pets safe and healthy in the cold weather. You can read that post here. A rule of thumb should be, “If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for your pet.” Yes, they have fur coats, but cold and snow and harsh winds can make their way through their fur just as they make their way through your jacket.
