7 Ways To Blog Better And Faster

The countdown is upon us and many of us in the pet-blogging and pet-loving community have already begun making our way to Nashville for the BlogPaws 2015 Conference. If you’re trying to get your blogging tasks complete so you can spend your time networking and learning for the next few days, here are some tips to help you blog better and faster — and that is a boon whether you’re heading to the conference or not!
Delve into these tips and let me know if you they do help you be more efficient and productive:
- If you know your niche, your blogging tasks will be easier. Knowing your area of expertise means you should always have a wealth of information and knowledge at hand. Knowing your niche also helps keep you on track so you don’t have to be continually wondering, “What am I blogging about today?”
- Read. Read. Read. In order to keep your mind active and your creative juices flowing you will want to be
continually reading. Read the posts of other bloggers who you love. Read posts of bloggers who are outside of your area of expertise. Read blog posts in niche areas that you want to know more about. - Use a blog post idea generator. Sometimes they will give you very odd, off the wall, topics but other times they just might spark your imagination when you simply cannot find your creativity.
- If you don’t like it, don’t write about it. If you don’t want to blog about how to clean a car or sell real estate – then don’t! Simple as that. Blog about what you love. Blog about your passions. If you love what you do, that will show through in the words you share with your readers.
- Not all of your posts have to be 10,000 word tomes. Look at your blog idea. Note I said idea… singular. Stick to one single topic in your blog posts. Don’t ramble. Just as you wrote a “topic sentence” when you were in high school, you should write a topic sentence for your blog posts to keep you on track.
- Bring in a guest blogger. What easier way to blog better and faster than to bring in a guest blogger. If you do that, all you have to do is post the blog once you receive it and viola – fresh content.
- Keep in mind that your readers may be looking at your blog post on a smart phone or tablet and because of that you will want to add in bullet points, numbered lists, bolded subheads and small paragraphs.
