This week’s Wordless Wednesday blog hop is dedicated to the caring, dedicated veterinary technicians of the world who make this is a better planet for animals. Veterinary technicians play an essential role in vet hospitals and practices and this week, the spotlight is on them. National Veterinary Technician week was founded in 1993 by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in the United States.
There are many BlogPaws Community members who, in fact, have been a vet tech (or continue to be). Bernard Lima-Chavez, the BlogPaws Campaign Manager, is a former vet tech. Founder of My Kid Has Paws, Rachel Sheppard, also has vet tech roots. She writes, ““I Don’t Know How You Do It”. This was a phrase I heard CONSTANTLY while I was working at the veterinary hospital. People felt like my job, and the jobs of veterinarians were impossible. And sometimes it felt like they were right.”
Nod your head in agreement if you can only imagine what vet techs see and do day in and day out. I know that personally I thought about being a veterinarian for oh, all of 10 minutes, and I knew I was not equipped to be hands on in that capacity. Vet techs with a heart, those on the front lines, and those who are hands on, we celebrate and dedicate to you! (Click for more about what a veterinary technician does)
